Through the practice of correct breathing (Ujjayi Pranayama), postures (asanas), and gazing point (driste), we are given the opportunity to gain control of the senses and develop a deep awareness of ourselves. By maintaining this discipline with regularity and devotion, one acquires a steadiness of the body and the mind on and off of the mat.

Ashtanga Yoga is a dynamic and graceful system that synchronises the breath with the body, this type of movement is called viinyasa.
It follows a therapeutic and progressive set sequence of postures.
Using the traditional Sanskrit count we enter a methodical and powerful practice. The count provides us with a technique to practice the sequence as a moving meditation step by step and breath by breath.

Is when all students at varying levels of understanding and development within the discipline practice together in one room but independently. The teacher assists each student as and when the opportunity arrises. The student practices with a pace that suits themselves. As the students practice develops so does their repertoire of the sequence increase. An independent approach to learning within the context of a class setup.
